Tim Selgo, recently retired after spending the past 20 years as Grand Valley State University’s Athletics Director, and Five Count Publishing are releasing his debut book, Anchor Up: Competitive Greatness The Grand Valley Way, on May 9, 2017.
Selgo is one of the most accomplished ADs in the history of Division II collegiate athletics, having won a total of 19 National Championships and 183 Conference Championships in 20 years. The Director’s Cup, given to the best all-around athletics program in the country, has been handed to Tim Selgo a total of 13 times, including 11 in a row. Needless to say, the man knows how to lead.
Anchor Up: Competitive Greatness The Grand Valley Way tells the story of Tim Selgo and the rise of Grand Valley State to national prowess in every collegiate sport through the words of Mr. Selgo himself. Intertwined with the story are Selgo’s three Fundamentals for Success and his Five Leadership Steps to competitive greatness. He lays out the process and the mindset used to conjure one of the most dominant athletics programs on any college level.
Selgo retired from his position at Grand Valley in July 2016 and now works as a consultant at Athletics Staffing & Consultants and as an associate professor at Davenport University. This summer, he is being honored with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Division II Lifetime Achievement Award in Orlando, Florida.
Anchor Up will be in stores on May 9, 2017 as well as on Amazon’s Kindle and online at www.fivecountpub.com and Amazon.
