ESPN College Football Analyst and former Buffalo Bills’ Linebacker, Ray Bentley, will be appearing at a pair of Sports Card and Memorabilia shows in New Hampshire this month. Bentley will be selling and signing copies of his new novel, Driftwood, as well as his Darby the Dinosaur and Bubba Gator children’s books at each show.
The first appearance will take place Sunday, May 15th, at the Dover Sports Card & Memorabilia Show. Admission into the show is free and there will be no charge for autographs at this show. In addition to Ray’s books, 8x10 photos, mini-helmets, footballs, and trading cards will be available for purchase and signing. The show will be held at the Dover Elks Lodge, 282 Durham Road, Dover, New Hampshire. Ray will be signing at the show from 9am to 1pm. For more information visit the show Facebook page.
The second appearance follows two weeks later on Sunday, May 29th, at the Manchester Sports Card & Memorabilia Show. This top-notch show features over 40 vendor tables with a tremendous assortment of valuable collectibles and runs from 9 AM to 2 PM. Admission is $2.00, and children under twelve are free. Ray will be signing at this show from 10am until Noon and there is no charge for is autograph. The event also features three other autograph guests: “Irish” Mickey Ward, a former Welterweight boxing champion, Denny McLain, a former two-time Cy Young Award winner with the Detroit Tigers, and Warbeard Hanson, a professional wrestler with WWE and currently with Ring of Honor. Ray Bentley was a starting linebacker on the Bills' Super Bowl squads in 1990 & 1991 while playing with the Bills from 1986 thru 1991. He finished his career with the Cincinnati Bengals in 1992. Prior to joining the NFL Ray played in the USFL for the 1983 USFL Champion Michigan Panthers and the Oakland Invaders in 1985.
Driftwood is the story of Buffalo Blizzard Linebacker, Jack Driftwood, and his last chance at pro football glory. The narrative follows the grizzled, old linebacker from training camp through Mega Bowl 50 played in Buffalo and gives an inside look at the machinations of professional football on the field and in the locker room. Off the field Driftwood’s eclectic collection of friends help him escape and bring the truth to light when the Blizzard’s General Manager plays rough in his efforts to steal the team and send Jack packing.
