Ray Bentley heading back to CMU and Mount Pleasant during Western Week

(Gowen, MI) CMU alum, former NFL linebacker, current ESPN College Football Analyst and author Ray Bentley will be returning to Mount Pleasant, MI on Thursday, October 8th for a pair of book signings and to speak with the Chippewa football team in preparation for their battle that Saturday with arch rival Western Michigan.

Ray will begin the day with a powwow with the Chippewa football team to talk football and get them ready to take on the Western Michigan Broncos in their annual MAC rivalry showdown. Ray will then be signing copies of his new novel, Driftwood, along with his children’s books during the lunch hour at Max & Emily’s Eatery at 125 E. Broadway Street from Noon to 1:30pm. That evening Ray will be at Cranker’s Restaurant and Brewery at 1207 E. Pickard Road from 6 to 7:30 pm, again signing his books and talking football with anyone who wishes to stop by.

“I’m so excited to go back to Mt. Pleasant and the CMU campus! I’ve got a lot of great friends and fantastic memories from there. I never lost to Western back in my day and I’m hopeful that will rub off on Coach Bono’s squad!”

- Chippewa Hall of Fame Linebacker Ray Bentley

Copies of all of Ray’s books will be available for sale at the events. You can also order your copy from www.fivecountpub.com, or pick one up locally at the CMU Campus Bookstore or Cranker’s Restaurant and Brewery.

About Ray Bentley

Ray is a former NFL linebacker, having played ten years professionally, including three in the USFL. He has worked in both the TV and Radio industries since his retirement from professional football in 1993. Currently he is in his 12th year as an ESPN College Football Analyst. Ray has authored and published seven children’s books. He lives in New Hampshire with his wife, Jodi, and family.

About Driftwood

Driftwood, his first novel, is about a 17-year veteran linebacker of the North American Football Association (NAFA), Jack Driftwood. Driftwood and the Buffalo Blizzard have been at the bottom of the league since his rookie year, where they played and lost in Mega Bowl 33. Things are looking up this year, though, as GM Donald Fegel has built a championship contender. Though he and Driftwood don’t always see eye to eye, they both want one thing: A Mega Bowl victory for the city of Buffalo.
