Albany, NY Sports Card Show to host Ray Bentley April 16th & 17th, raise money for the Tyler DeM

Former Buffalo Bills’ Linebacker Ray Bentley will be appearing at the Albany Sports Card Show on April 16 and 17. Bentley will be selling and signing copies of his new novel, Driftwood, as well as his Darby the Dinosaur and Bubba Gator children’s books at the show from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. on Saturday, April 16 and from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Sunday, April 17. The show is one of the longest running card shows in the country, operating for over 40 years. The event is at the Albany Ramada Plaza, 3 Watervliet Avenue, Albany, NY.

Bentley, a member of the Bills' Super Bowl squads in 1990 & 1991 released his first novel, Driftwood, this past August after previously writing seven different children's books. Other sports memorabilia will also be available including Ray’s Football Trading cards, 8x10 photos, mini helmets, and footballs. All autographs will be free at the event.

In lieu of charging for autographs, we will be collecting donations for the Tyler DeMarco Foundation, which helps fund cancer research at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Foundation also is helping to fund the creation of private hematology-oncology rooms specifically for pediatric cancer patients at the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. Tyler's Foundation is proud to announce the rooms have now been completed, and future funds will be used to set up and fund the endowment to ensure the Children's Hospital can continue to provide the best support possible for the pediatric cancer patients they treat.

Driftwood is the story of Buffalo Blizzard Linebacker, Jack Driftwood, and his last chance at pro football glory. The narrative follows the grizzled, old linebacker from training camp through Mega Bowl 50 played in Buffalo and gives an inside look at the machinations of professional football on the field and in the locker room. Off the field Driftwood’s eclectic collection of friends help him escape and bring the truth to light when the Blizzard’s General Manager plays rough in his efforts to steal the team and send Jack packing.

Admission to get into the show is just $2.00 for adults, and children under 12 are free. For more information on the show, visit or the Facebook page.

About the Tyler DeMarco Foundation

Our Mission is motivated by the love, compassion, and determination Tyler demonstrated in his desire to help other children who are fighting for their lives! Tyler battled four years to win the fight against Medulloblastoma and was determined to beat his odds and achieve these selfless goals. Sadly, Tyler’s cancer ended his life and his wishful desire.

Tyler DeMarco Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) Tax-Exempt Nonprofit Organization managed and operated by a committed Board of Directors. We are strictly an all-volunteer organization; no one receives compensation. All monies raised and received go into the goals defined by our Mission.

We will continue Tyler’s Fight against Childhood Cancer while honoring his legacy and endearing spirit of love, compassion and determination. We will also forever be inspired by the way Tyler chose to live his life and encouraged by his words of wisdom to persevere…

"Never Give Up." ~ Tyler DeMarco
