Tiger’s Opening Day Benefit Double-header Featuring Dave Rozema and Ray Bentley

BCF Wealth Strategies is proud to announce their annual Detroit Tigers’ Opening Day Double-header Benefit to raise money for the Dennis Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund. The day’s first pitch will be at the Sports Center Café at 3957 56th Street, SW, Wyoming, MI (56th & Wilson) from 1 to 3 P.M. On hand to sign autographs and take pictures will be former Tiger pitcher Dave Rozema along with former Super Bowl linebacker and local author and radio personality, Ray Bentley.

The nightcap event will be held in Howard City’s Latitudes and Steelheads, 101 E. Edgerton Street, Howard City, MI from 6 to 10 P.M. The Tiger’s opener in Miami will be shown on the Latitudes and Steelheads’ big screens with the first pitch at 7:10 P.M.

Come on out to either or both events to meet Dave and Ray and get ready for another exciting season of Tiger baseball. There will be plenty of door prizes along with a 50/50 raffle at each event. There will be a sports memorabilia silent auction presented by Jeff Gebben of All4Sports featuring an awesome, eclectic collection of signed sports memorabilia, game tickets and other exciting packages. Proceeds from the event go to the Dennis Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund. There is no charge for autographs although donations are appreciated.

Grand Rapid’s native son Dave Rozema pitched for the Tigers from 1977 through 1984 when he was part of the Tigers’ ’84 World Series Championship team. Recently “Rosey” has appeared on the TV show American Pickers. He is known as one of the all-time Detroit Tiger “characters” from his life-loving, free-wheeling antics on and off the field. Baseballs and 8x10 photos from Rosey’s playing days will be available for purchase at the events.

Ray Bentley played in Super Bowls XXV and XXVI with the Buffalo Bills and will have his Super Bowl rings on hand along with his 1983 Michigan Panther USFL Championship ring. Bentley has been a morning radio show host in West Michigan for over a decade. Copies of Ray Bentley’s novel Driftwood and four of Bentley’s children’s books will be available as well as football cards, mini-helmets and 8 x 10 photos from Ray’s playing days.

The Dennis Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the memory of Dennis Anderson. Each year a student is selected to receive a scholarship from this fund.
